monday + Azure DevOps Integration User Guide

The ADO monday Connector is a powerful tool that integrates Azure DevOps (ADO) with http://Monday.com , streamlining project management and enhancing collaboration. This connector enables users to synchronize tasks, issues, and work items between ADO and http://Monday.com seamlessly. It is designed to improve efficiency and ensure real-time updates across platforms.

 

Step 1: Log In to Your ADO Account

Log in to your Azure DevOps (ADO) account.

  • This is the dashboard that displays the list of projects in Azure DevOps (ADO). These projects will be synchronized with the http://Monday.com boards in our app.

  • A field needs to be added to the work item type named ‘GroupBelongTo’

  • Now we will configure monday workspace. Create a new workspace and click on the “Add from templates” button.

  • Search for “ADO” from the template center search bar and use this template given in the picture below.

  • We have our workspace ready

  • Lets configure the board by adding recipes that integrate the ADO account. Click on the Integrate button on the top right corner near automate.

  • Search for “Azure DevOps” click on the app

  • Click on the selected recipe shown in the picture below.

  • Click on the Authorize button from monday screen and click allow from the ado screen which is displayed after we authorize monday.

  • Now we have our recipe filling screen. Select the organization, project as you need.

  • In the mapping screen, you can map all the fields but mandantory to map the name and GroupBelongs to field.

  • Once done click on Add to board. We can add one more recipe.

  • This recipe will update any state change to ado work item.

  • After adding the recipes, we will have our webhooks created.

We can use parent child recipe and predecessor recipe in the same way.

Now our features like item creation from ADO to monday, status change, comments two way sync and other things will work for your board.
